Hello
I'm Bri, your Jack-of-all trades UX designer with a strong foundation in B2B and B2C web products. I specialize in creating engaging and conversion-optimized digital experiences. I leverage a comprehensive approach that combines research, data, psychology, and empathy, while integrating a digital marketing approach into my design process. My background in the arts enhances my visual design skills, allowing me to craft intuitive and aesthetically pleasing interfaces. With technical knowledge and a collaborative mindset, I work closely with cross-functional teams to address both user and business needs, delivering solutions that drive engagement and growth.
What makes me different than the other UX designers out there?
In the world of UX, standing out requires a unique blend of skills, experiences, and perspectives. What sets me apart from other UX designers is a combination of my diverse background, interdisciplinary approach, and deep understanding of both the art and science of user experience.
B2C Expertise:
This focus allows me to deeply understand consumer behavior and design experiences that drive engagement and conversions in diverse industries such as retail, hospitality, and entertainment.
Research, Data, and Empathy-Driven Design:
My design process is deeply rooted in research and data. I don't just rely on intuition or trends; I leverage empirical evidence and user feedback to inform my decisions. Coupled with a strong sense of empathy, I ensure that the end product resonates with users on a meaningful level, addressing their real pain points and needs.
Digital Marketing Strategies:
My experience working within a marketing department equips me with a unique perspective that blends UX with digital marketing strategies. I integrate SEO, content strategy, and branding considerations into my design work. This marketing mindset ensures that the products I design not only meet user expectations but also align with business goals, making them more effective and market-ready.
Artistic Background with Technical Proficiency:
Having a background in the arts, I bring a strong visual design aesthetic to my projects, ensuring that they are not only functional but also visually compelling. My technical knowledge, on the other hand, allows me to understand the practicalities of web development and collaborate closely with developers. This dual expertise ensures a smooth transition from design to implementation, often overlooked by designers without technical acumen.
Balanced Brain Approach:
My ability to balance creativity with analytical thinking is a distinctive advantage. Whether it's creating an elegant visual interface or analyzing user data to optimize a feature, I approach each task with a holistic view. This balance makes me adept at solving complex problems, ensuring that the solutions are both innovative and practical.
Relentless Learner and Self-Starter:
I am a quick learner and thrive on acquiring new skills and knowledge. This continuous learning mindset keeps me at the forefront of the latest UX trends, tools, and technologies. My self-starter attitude means I'm proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues, always looking for ways to improve the user experience.
Business Acumen and Team Collaboration:
Understanding the business side of things is crucial for a UX designer. I not only focus on the user but also aim to find a balance that benefits the business. I enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, valuing the camaraderie and diverse perspectives that each member brings. This collaborative approach leads to more comprehensive and well-rounded solutions.
In summary, what makes me different—and if not better 😉—is my ability to integrate a diverse skill set, from marketing and technical know-how to artistic design and deep empathy. My unique blend of experiences allows me to see the bigger picture and address both user and business needs effectively. This holistic and interdisciplinary approach ensures that the solutions I deliver are not just user-friendly but also strategically aligned with business objectives, making me a well-rounded and highly effective UX designer.
Still interested? This is my story.
If you'd ask my friends and family, they'd probably tell you I'm a bit of a puzzle—a mix of varying interests and passions. You see, I'm the kind of person who finds joy in both strategic problem-solving and indulging in creative endeavors, whether it's sketching, crafting, or experimenting with different art forms.
Ever since I can remember, I've been on a quest to find the perfect balance between these seemingly disparate parts of myself. During college, you'd often find me in the library, buried in books, studying biology and writing research papers by day, and delving into creative pursuits by night. But as much as I enjoyed both, I couldn't shake this feeling that I was missing something—a career that truly felt like me.
The pandemic brought a moment of clarity. Burnout from teaching prompted a soul-searching journey. Armed with my trusty whiteboard and a whole lot of determination, I went to town mapping out my hopes, dreams, and skills. And wouldn't you know it, in the midst of all that chaos, my husband drops the bomb: "Hey, ever thought about UX design?" So, down the rabbit hole of UX I went, and let me tell you, it felt like finding a missing puzzle piece. Suddenly, everything clicked, and I knew I was onto something special.
My design mantra? Keep it simple, keep it user-friendly. Good design, to me, is all about making people's lives easier—understanding what makes them tick and building something that just works. In my designs, I strive to strike a delicate balance between minimalism, modernism, and a touch of whimsy. Clean lines, subtle sophistication, and a hint of personality define my aesthetic. I am drawn to simplicity but revel in the opportunity to experiment with colors and textures, constantly pushing the boundaries of my creativity.
My journey through design has been a wild ride, thanks in large part to some amazing mentors who've shown me the ropes. They've taught me everything from the importance of paying attention to the tiniest details to the power of empathy in design.
But you know what? The best part of it all has been the collaboration. There's something magical about bouncing ideas off each other, seeing where they take us, and coming up with something truly awesome together. It's like being part of this big, creative family where everyone brings something unique to the table.
What makes me happy.
